  151. Compression Utility
  152. -------------------
  153.  
  154. Not all BBSs; DataBase Companies; Sysops; Disk Vendors; PC User 
  155. Grops have the same preference for compressing Programs. This 
  156. Program, NEWS1, was compressed with PKZIP, Version 2.04G, dated 
  157. 02-01-93. Thus, the filename is: NEWS1.ZIP (News One Zip).
  158.  
  159. Disk Vendors who distribute this Program with another archive are 
  160. asked to be consistent with others and put the filename NEWS1 before 
  161. any extension which is prefered. For Sysops who only use the .EXE 
  162. entension for filenames, you could re-archive NEWS1.ZIP by using the 
  163. ZIP2EXE, or, if you prefere, Balanced Prosperity Company could mail 
  164. you a Disk with NEWS1.EXE.

  166. Obtaining And Loading NEWS1.ZIP
  167. -------------------------------

  169. There are numerious ways that Programs reach DataBase Companies; 
  170. BBSs; SYSOPS; Disk Vendors; PC Users' Group and individual PC 
  171. Owners/Users. Experienced PC Users will have no difficulty handl-
  172. ing a Zip file. But for those who are new to Zip files, some basic 
  173. information are provided here for you.

  175. By whatever way NEWS1.ZIP reached you, the Program will have to be
  176. loaded on the Hard Drive of your PC and Unzipped/opened/inflated for 
  177. you to evaluate it. First of all, at C:\> Prompt, type this:
  178.  
  179.         md\news1 (news one) then press Enter: Next you type:
  180.  
  181.         cd\news1 and press Enter: 
  182.  
  183. If you downloaded NEWS1.ZIP with your modem and saved it in another 
  184. Directory, you will need to copy it into the Directory of NEWS1 
  185. which you just created. 
  186.  
  187. Assuming you followed the steps and now have NEWS1.ZIP in the 
  188. Direcctory of News1, type the following:
  189.  
  190.         pkunzip news1.zip and then press Enter: Now type:
  191.  
  192.         news1 and Press Enter.
  193.  
  194. From here on, you need no more DOS Commands to evaluate NEWS1/NEWS
  195. FROM HEAVEN. All you have to do now is keep pressing the  Enter Key as
  196. the word "CONTINUE" remains highlighted with a bright Red Colour. At 
  197. the bottom of your screen, you will see some BUTTON words. You can use 
  198. your Arrow Key to highlight them and then press Enter.
  199.  
  200. Using The Help Buttton:
  201. -----------------------
  202.  
  203. The Button Words at the bottom of your screen are actually Commands 
  204. which have been Automated for you. The most important of these Automat-
  205. ed Commands is the HELP Button. It will explain the other Button Words 
  206. at the bottom of your screen. In other words, the HELP Button provides 
  207. on-line assistance as you are going through the Presentation.
  208.  
  209. When you highlight the HELP Button and press Enter, a Sub-menu 
  210. appears on your screen which gives you options to get help on. 
  211. You use your Arrow Key to highlight your selection and then press 
  212. Enter. A boxed message appears on your screen. After reading the 
  213. message, you press Enter again and the boxed message will be 
  214. removed.
  215.  
  216. If you need more selections from the HELP Button, you need to keep 
  217. it highlighted and repeat the steps. 
  218.  
  219. Working With The .Exe Format
  220. -----------------------------
  221.  
  222. For those of you who obtained the Program on Floppy Disk, or down-
  223. loaded a file which says: NEWS1.EXE, you need to handle it slightly 
  224. different from the instructions for the .Zip file.
  225.  
  226. You can use the same procedure for making a new Directory called 
  227. News1 and then load the Disk or downloaded file into that Directory. 
  228. Now type:
  229.  
  230.         news1 (news one) and then press Enter. Next, type:
  231.  
  232.         news1.bat and press Enter.
  233.  
  234. From here on, all the instructions which were given about 
  235. NEWS1.ZIP are now applicable to NEWS1.EXE.

  238. What To Expect from NEWS FROM HEAVEN        
  239. ------------------------------------
  240.  
  241. By testing the Program, it was observed that it runs much faster 
  242. when it is loaded unto the Hard Drive. It was also observed that 
  243. the slower performance from the A or B Drive throws off the Special 
  244. Effects of delayed typing to the screen. In most instances, however, 
  245. you will not have sufficient Disk space on a Floppy Disk to make it 
  246. work from A or B Drive. 
  247.  
  248. If you happen to have saved the Program on a 1.2K or a 1.4K Floppy 
  249. Disk, you might have sufficient memory to extract and run the 
  250. Presentation from your Floppy Disk Drive. You would simply follow 
  251. the instructions which were given to open the .Zip or .Exe files, 
  252. only, this time, you would not need to make a new Directory.
  253.  
  254. Since the Program comes on the Shareware method, you will have to 
  255. load your Commercial Mouse Drive into the Directory im which you 
  256. have the Program to be able to properly use the Mouse with the 
  257. Program. At any rate, your Arrow  Keys and Space will serve you 
  258. fine to go ahead and enjoy this Program.

  261. deeper, and broader, and higher, and richer lives by applying your
